There is a IV terrain card that has a high risk to be impossible to clear.
The description on the card is “The area is divided by old irrigation canals filled with icy water.” If you fail the test on the card, it isn’t removed. And the test is often difficult or even impossible depending on deck and items. For me it was even on a space that was integral to the current main quest. For me it was literally impossible. I have no cards or items to help with any of those tests and I can’t get five stars on two cards. Not even with blessings. I guess if I have “improvise”, “You are lucky” AND “determination”. I can do it. But that does seem right for something that could block you 100%.
