There is one card where it specifically tells you to count how many successes you Obtained. This is card
224 with Initiators symbol

For this particular puzzle it would be nearly impossible, or implausible, to obtain the exact amount of stars you need to succeed the test.

I wonder if the wording should be how many successes you have taken into account?

You do have the option to know the number of successes you need to solve the puzzle - but even if you know the number, it is unlikely you would reveal exactly the correct number of stars, no more, no less.

Specifically, this is during the
Initiators
section of
Drums of Desolation
, when you are at
Kel’s column and you need to climb it
.

(I did see someone on boardgame geek stating that there is no difference between number of stars obtained and number of stars taken into account, but I do believe there is a difference according to the rules, as you can clearly choose to ignore any successes you obtain.)
